Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru ‘Les Murgers’       

A pleasing ruby colour. The bouquet shows the perfect match of Vosne hedonistic fruit with the extra weight of Nuits-St-Georges. Fruit floods the palate, dark raspberry, a light acidity, tannins submerged beneath the fruit, a light touch of oak, and remarkably persistent. Very fine indeed. Enjoy it because two thirds of the plot on 161/49 rootstock was taken out after the 2022 harvest. Drink from 2032-2040.

Petit Vougeot 1er Cru 

Crimson with a pinker tinge. Lifted little red fruits on the nose, stylish and racy, some youthful bitters on the palate, light tannins, adequate acidity, then the fruit comes rushing back behind. Vosne Romanée 1er Cru ‘Suchots’ 

The 2022 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots is one of the highlights of the range this year. Wafting from the glass with aromas of plums, cassis, orange zest and exotic spices and framed by a deft application of new oak, it's medium to full-bodied, concentrated and multidimensional, with terrific depth, velvety tannins and a long, broad finish. 93-95 points William Kelley - Wine Advocate

Clos de Vougeot, Grand Cru 

A vivid mid purple. The bouquet suggests some concentration but a youthful hiding of the detail. On the palate, this is clearly extremely well-constructed and the deep red fruit fills the mouth. Tannins are fine boned, and there is enough acidity. Let this age quietly for a decade and a fine Clos V will emerge. Drink from 2032-2040.

Romanée St Vivant, Grand Cru 

A highly restrained and decidedly cool nose requires aggressive swirling to coax the wonderfully spicy red pinot fruit, floral and exotic tea scents from the glass. On the palate the super-refined, energetic and well-detailed middleweight flavors possess a lilting, pure and highly refined mouthfeel thanks primarily to the beautifully fine-grained tannins supporting the striking long, balanced and lightly austere finale. Richebourg, Grand Cru

An even spicier nose reflects notes of exotic black tea, dark cherry, incense, hoisin, plum liqueur and a broad range of floral elements. The gorgeously textured medium weight flavors are once again not especially dense yet manage to display impressive power on the dusty, compact and hugely long finish, indeed this offers the best persistence in the entire range. In sum, this is stunningly good with the development potential to match. Drink through 2037+
