Marc Colin was born in 1944 and set up his estate in the late 1970s; together with his wife Michèle, they took over vines from several generations, the Colin and Ponavoy families, some plots have been owned by the family for more than a century.‎ They then cultivated about 6 hectares of vines on the communes of CHASSAGNE-MONTRACHET, SAINT-AUBIN and constantly developed the estate during the 1980s and 1990s.‎

‎Today, Caroline and Damien, two of their children, lead this 12-hectare estate and includes 26 appellations in the villages of Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Pulugny-Montrachet and Santenay.‎‎ The ‎‎estate is conducted partly in reasoned cultivation and the other in experimentation with organic cultivation.‎‎ ‎
‎‎‎Regular soil work allows them to avoid chemical weeding, and thus obtain an impeccable quality of grapes.‎‎ Our ‎‎production includes regional, communal, 1st vintage and Grand cru appellations, for an annual total of about 80,000 bottles, 90% of which are white wine and 10% red wine.‎‎ ‎
Their wines distinctly represent their place with purity, harmony and complexity. They are flavoresome yet taut and represent excellent value.

“I have heaped praise upon Domaine Marc Colin in previous years. This year is no different. Marc Colin is one of the best growers in the Côte de Beaune, perhaps to Saint Aubin what Jean-Marc Roulot is to Meursault. And you can quote me on that.”        Neal Martin
